Water Brooks - Encouragement for Today

The Psalmist wrote

"As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God". Psalm 42:1 (KJV)

Sometimes our lives reflect more accurately the words of Joel "Yea, the beasts of the field pant unto thee; for the water brooks are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness". Joel 1:20 (ASV)

Our goal and purpose at Water Brooks; to see a panting after God; to be like David; "a man after God's own heart". Now there is a man who had some bad days but still he was a man after God's own heart. Don't give up, better days are coming. Saul sought to slay David. We have our enemies and our trials in this world, it is not without tribulations. This world wants to slay us... don't give in, don't give up. We are fighting a battle against pricipalities and powers,  against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Knowing all this, we still battle with complacency. Why do we settle for being just nominal christians? We want to help create in you a hunger and thirst after righteousness by providing "encouragement for today". Perhaps the Apostle Paul, when writing to the Romans about devoting themseves to the Lord said it best; "Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect". (NASV) This is a daily presentation of ourselves to God.

What is your desire when it comes to opening up your entire life to God, offering yourself to Him and living to please him. Leaning soley on him and not our own ignorance.

"Therefore my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Cor. 15:58 (KJV)
